More details there : http://bit.ly/gw3FSr

I think it is not a new behavior. In 2008, a kind of Russian Software-as-a-Service for hackers appeared. The security firm Finjan discovered a website that allowed its users to access the secure .ftp sites of more than 8000 organisations, from Fortune 500 firms to high profile websites. Users paid as they go, they were given usernames & passwords for FTP sites, and could easily inject malicious code through a user-friendly remote online access app.

Ps: it is very hard to post news on a forum :-)
would you like to launch a blog instead for communications(news, articles, etc), and keep a forum for internal communication? It would be easier to read/post and it would bring more people there.

Sure, that sounds fine. This was our temporary (and free) solution while we looked into getting a page maybe on the King's website. If you have a better hostin solution, I'm sure we can get into that. I'm up for anything that suits the group.

I've a place on my hosting solution (unlimited bandwidth and around 100mb data), and I could design you a wordpress theme.. But you couldn't upload big files such as videos and stuff like that. If it is only articles / images and so on, I think I could host the Group's website on a more appealing platform. If that suit the group of course! And we could keep this forum for internal communication purposes.

I think we could use our website to communicate on cybercrime & cyberwarfare stakes (through articles, info on conferences, book review, and so on), and enlarge the initial vision (london students) to include other students from all other the world working on cybercrime.

Yeah! That sounds really good actually. I think we should definitely do that. Then we can talk more detail also with the group, but I don't think anyone will object. I like the idea of expanding, using this group as a internal forum.

I've also been trying to think of a name, or something shorter than what the group is about...

Anyway, something to think about!

Yes, but i have to warn you that there would be a drawback (not a big one, but one that the group have to discuss).
As you know, to host a web site, you should have a host (it give you data place and bandwidth) and you should buy also a domain name (it gives you an adress). The problem is that I have only two domain names. The first one is my own name (so obviously we won't use it) and the second one is Information-Systems-Research.com my website on research in IS.
The group website will be host under my root, such as: www.information-systems-research.com/Xxxxxx, where xxx will be the group's name. The two websites will be different, I mean in two closed files, they won't share their structure, access, data, identified users, etc.. But they will share the domain name.

ok. well for sure we can discuss it with the others at our meeting next week although i do not suspect there will be any real issues as to the domain name. if you are willing to share, that is some good news for us in any case! will you be able to make it next week? i sent out an email to everyone, hopefully you should have received it.
